Write Distinction-level Essays And Dissertations Using My Proven LIGHTHOUSE Method And Personalised 1:1 Academic Writing Support.

Live Interactive Online Academic Writing Mentorship and Support, For All Students, With A Heavy Writing and Building Confidence Focus Taught By An Expert Academic Writing Coach

WHO IS THIS FOR?

I built this powerful programme for all Academic Writing students that are struggling with the below:

Are you getting vague feedback that doesn’t help you improve?

Many students receive vague comments like “needs more critical analysis” that tell you something is wrong, but not what to do differently.

That’s why I teach you exactly what supervisors mean, so every piece of feedback becomes clear, actionable, and useful.

Are you struggling to structure your ideas?

Most capable professionals hit a wall not because they lack knowledge, but because academic writing follows a different logic than workplace communication.

I teach you the LIGHTHOUSE method: a structured, repeatable framework that turns even a vague brief into a clear writing plan, so you can produce strong, clear writing without starting from scratch every time.

Do you struggle to keep up with deadlines?

Balancing postgraduate study alongside a full-time career and family can quickly become overwhelming.

I work exclusively with working professionals, so every session, resource, and piece of feedback is built around your actual constraints. Together, your work can be completed on time without last-minute stress.

What does it really take to get a distinction?

Many capable students don’t know because nobody explains how work is assessed from the examiner’s perspective.

I teach you the marking logic your supervisor never explains, so distinction-level writing stops feeling like luck and becomes a repeatable process.

Hi, I'm Ian Daniels!

I’m an academic writing coach and editor with over 15 years of experience. I help students, researchers, and professionals get their ideas across clearly and confidently.

I studied Medical Microbiology at the University of Newcastle and have additional training in education and academic writing.

I’ve taught in places like Hong Kong, Singapore, Spain, and the UK, working with lots of different people.

I’ve also teamed up with groups like the RSC, The Charlesworth Group, and Oxbridge Essays to help with dissertations, journal articles, and more.

My goal is to teach you useful skills in writing and building confidence, while still keeping your unique voice.

With Academic Success For Me, all the hard work has been done for you. All we need from you, is trust and co-operation.

HOW IT WORKS

The LIGHTHOUSE Method

Students work with an exclusive academic framework proven to deliver first-class results without unnecessary guesswork, built around examiner-level insight and structured to be repeatable across every assignment and discipline.

Expert Academic Support

Students work directly with me, an academic specialist with 15+ years of international teaching experience, an MA in Academic Writing, an MA in Education, and six years of experience coaching postgraduate students through to journal publication.

I’ve seen hundreds of assignments from the examiner’s side—that perspective is how I help you get your dream outcome.

Bespoke Feedback at Every Stage

Students receive expert, personalised feedback from drafting all the way through to submission, ensuring they have real academic support throughout. You’ll also build strong self-editing skills to assess your own work at an examiner’s level, so improvement continues long after we’ve worked together.

HEAR WHAT OUR CLIENTS ARE SAYING

"Out of all the tutors I've had, Ian was the one who taught me the importance of clearness and conciseness in my writing. He always took the time to explain his suggestions, and his feedback was always constructive and much appreciated."

Ralou M

“Ian offered some fantastic advice on my writing. He was excellent at noticing my spelling and grammatical errors and also making the form and flow of my words more appealing. As a mature student returning to writing at the postgraduate level, it was great to have that input and support. I would recommend him to anyone."

Adam R

“Ian was a brilliant tutor, whenever I had any questions or needed some feedback, he was always there to help me advance with my project. During the process he was not only academically helpful but I could also connect with him at a personal level, making the process extremely fun and easygoing.”

Claudia M

“I have just completed re-editing my ebook, using the help you gave me. I want to thank you for your comments. They’re exactly what I needed to translate what is clear to me in my mind, to be clear to the reader and help them use the practical advice. I’m now more confident in my writing and know what possible mistakes to look out for, thanks again!”

Manu C

"Excellent service. Couldn’t recommend Ian more. Detail oriented, prompt, and very considerate to my intentions and what I was trying to say. He always asked and made sure about my intended meanings. Ian’s advice was very easy to understand and follow. Not only did it help the project to flow and read more easily, but several incongruous or even irrelevant aspects were raised that I wouldn’t have picked up on otherwise. (Which really helped cut down my verbose word count!) My project has been selected by my University to submit to an academic journal, in no small part I’m sure, to the fantastic support I received. Definitely 100% worthwhile. Thank you!"
